NPT: Bryce Canyon
On August 27, I took a quick trip down to Southern Utah and visited Bryce Canyon with my sister Jenny & her family and my friend Heather. I was happy to squeeze in another National Park for my NPT (National Park Tour). One that I hadn't planned on getting this year!
We arrived in mid afternoon, and I was worried that we wouldn't have much daylight. But, we had enough and were able to enjoy a very pleasant hike as well. Please enjoy the photos!
This photo cracks me up. There are three hoodoos and three grumpies. Well, at least that's how they all posed. Everyone was actually getting along very well!
Remember this little guy. He'll "pop up" again soon.
We got some cool Facebook-profile-picture-worthy action shots during our hike.
(Well, at least for the one old enough to have a Facebook account.)
We took the Queens Garden Trail which then hooked up with Navajo Loop for the ascent.
What a beautiful place! At one of the overlooks after our hike Heather and I stopped to eat our dinner.
And did you know this arch was at Bryce?! I never did until this trip. By the time we drove over to see it, the sun had gone down and it was quite dark. In order to even see the arch, I set my shutter on a slow setting and took this photo.
And, as is the custom for the NPT, please enjoy this artistic representation of my experience.

Oh Sarah, I love you! That game brightened my day. :) And your photos are breathtaking - I really need to go to Bryce!
ReplyDeletethose sneaky squirrels. FUN idea with the hammer. :) Grumpies? only part of the time. I really like your picture from the overlook with the trees on the top border. Great trip.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I've never been to Bryce Canyon. One of these days we'll get around to it.
ReplyDeleteSneaky little squirrels. How many actual squirrels were you bopping on the head with the hoodoos?
Thanks, Kimma!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julanders! And they were only "grumpies" in that ONE photo. The rest of the time they were "happies." ;)
Mellissa, I guess I should clarify that the game doesn't represent my ACTUAL experience! But, I did see squirrels and I did see hoodoos... and that's about as far as the similarities go! Ha!
I loved the game! I'm glad you were able to finally finish your creative project. And now I want to go back. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heather. Let's go again! But first, Rocky Mountain National Park, Glacier National Park, etc......
ReplyDeleteClever game! And groovy photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mom and Papa! :)
